Quote: Silentbrick of E-Uni. I did'nt do it for fun, of course; simply, because he was abrasive. E-Uni is a very dictatorial sort of organization; and, while I can abide rules, I cannot abide someone telling me what to think or say. He, did the latter. I was also blocked from E-Uni chat somehow, as well as antoher channel; despite, my never doing more, than giving helpful advice.
I would have considered assisting E-Uni with training, and generally being an asset; for this intent, did I originally join. I found my reservations increasing; with time spent in the Uni, and began to have doubts as to their integrity. They prevented my advancement, beyong freshman, despite my helpfulness; and considered my opinion, to be utterly worthless. They treated many this way; new players, and old. My alt was well skilled at the time, being only a few months ago; and I was less than impressed, with their belief in their own superiority. There is more; but it's not worth getting into. I find them less than impressive; and, consider them egomaniacal tyrranists.
FinnAgainZer0. This guy is plainly annoying, and has an overly high opinion of himself; though, I don't think I've ****ed him off much. Honestly, I don't think that would be easy to do; as he has such a highly inflated opinion of himself. This was all on the forums, of course; as I've never actually met him in game.
Others. Sorry, it was brief; and I've forgotten most of their names. Most, were simply arrogant, irritating, griefers; or, just flatly trolling, in one fashion or another.
Okay, since you seem to have a sense of humor and are not, indeed, William Shatner.... I wanted to address one of your main points.
Eve Uni.
I had a char in there for a bit too and can confirm that they are indeed a bunch of ****ers. I knew there would be trouble from the very beginning, during the application process. Anyone who has experienced this can attest that it's simply ridiculous. Applicants would wait for hours in the public chat room with no moderators. Moderators would log on, sit in the chat, and not do interviews. When this was questioned, they would droll on about how "stressful" it was to do interviews and that sometimes they would need "up to an hour" just to recover from the intensity of a single interview.
Once admitted, we were immediately bombarded by egomaniacs who were looking for ego strokes at every turn, and would get nasty if you failed to provide said stroking.
They essentially hold a monopoly on formal training in Eve, at least as far as most players are concerned. However, the truth is there are many training programs out there for many different subjects, you just have to look around. Oh, and the "other guys" don't generally treat students like disposable commodities because usually you're being trained up to join their corp...so the better trained you are the better. Also, since hopefully you'll be staying, they don't treat you like a sub-human.
As Eve Uni is so quick to tell their students: Once trained, you leave. So they really don't have a reason to give a crap about you. They also know that you probably feel there's no alternative but to take it in hopes that they will eventually graduate you. Yes sir, no sir, and playing the political game is how you finally make it out of Uni with any kind of endorsement.
Eve Uni embodies "resting on your laurels". Their perceived monopoly on the training business has turned a once respectable organization into a bunch of lazy, self-righteous, pretentious, pompous blow-hards.
